C-Ward Expansion Project

Project Overview

The C-Ward Expansion project at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) was a major construction initiative aimed at expanding the hospital's capacity and modernizing its facilities.

As the Project Manager and Lead Civil Engineer, I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the construction process, from initial site mobilization and soil investigation to the completion of the structural and architectural works.

The project involved complex structural engineering challenges, requiring precise coordination between various stakeholders, contractors, and specialized teams to ensure successful implementation according to design specifications and quality standards.

Project Details

Planning and Coordination

Reviewed project plans daily, arranged tasks, and coordinated with contractors, laborers, and subcontractors to achieve daily targets. Effective communication ensured alignment across the team.

Site Supervision

Oversaw construction activities, including masonry, steel reinforcement for slabs, and backfilling operations, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

Quality Assurance

Inspected work and materials to ensure delivery met design specifications and quality benchmarks. Implemented rigorous quality control processes throughout the construction lifecycle.

Problem Solving

Collaborated with specialists to develop solutions to address site challenges, such as unexpected issues in structural work or delays. Applied technical knowledge to overcome construction obstacles.

Record Keeping

Maintained accurate reports on site progress, including labor hours, tasks completed, and issues encountered, using ERP for detailed tracking and documentation.

Technical Expertise

Specialized in structural engineering, focusing on steel structures, and used STAAD-Pro for precise analysis and design. Demonstrated excellence in concrete construction and reinforced concrete detailing.
